What We Offer

ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)

We offer classes that improve their reading, writing, speaking, listening, technology, and academic skills in order to be successful in college and get a better job. There is a $25 tuition fee for the quarter. Tuition waivers are available during the registration process. Classes are for immigrants, refugees, permanent residents, and U.S. citizens who are at least 18 years old.

GED

We offer classes at Highline to prepare students who need math, reading or writing skills for success on the GED exam or preparation for college classes and programs. Highline College is a testing center certified to administer the GED test through the GED Testing Service of the American Council on Education. There is a $25 tuition fee for the quarter. Tuition waivers are available during the registration process

I-BEST

I-BEST classes have two teachers in the classroom: one teacher to focus on the job-training content and one to focus on academic skills. Highline offers classes that integrate instruction in reading, writing, speaking, listening, technology, and academic skills while learning the content of the I-BEST program. I-BEST classes are tuition-bearing classes. There is financial support available

  • Both Programs are offered in the fall, winter, and spring quarters. There is no summer Jumpstart.
  • There is a $25 tuition fee for the quarter. Tuition waivers are available during the registration process
